LADP is proud to support Ghetto Classics Dance (GCDance) in their mission to provide quality dance education to children living in Korogocho, Nairobi by connecting LADP dancers with the GCDance students virtually. In the past, LADP has also provided funding for studio mirrors and barres, access to our digital dance and education platform LADP Digital, and nutritional guidance for the students through our partnership with Hello Palate.

“As an L.A. dance organization our outreach has traditionally focused on L.A. based youth groups, but when we were introduced to the extraordinary work being done by GCDance in one of Nairobi’s most notorious slum areas, we knew immediately that we wanted to get involved. We see dance as an art that truly connects; transcending languages, borders and distance. Being able to offer the GCDance students virtual training with our dancers, access to our digital app, and perhaps most importantly, develop an ongoing conversation and collaboration across the miles, has been incredibly rewarding.”
