A class using anatomical systems to assist in the warming up of our bodies, voices and the space around us. It will be followed by improvisational movement based research and live composing in real time! 

Eichten is a graduate of the Juilliard School, where she received the Hector Zaraspe Award in recognition of her choreography in 2011. Eichten was a founding member of L.A. Dance Project and is a current member of AMOC* (American Modern Opera Company). Last summer, Eichterling, an ongoing project with creative partner Bret Easterling had a premiere of their latest work, “Dance in The Park,” at the Ojai Music Festival. ‘What followed was a joyous, frockling pas de deux of love, extinction and human evolution — Charles Darwin meets Fantasia.’- SF Chronicle. At the start of 2023, Eichten was choreographer and the co-director of “Expostulations of Mary,” a new chamber opera for voices, strings, dance, and electronics with composer Eliza Bagg and director, George R. Miller. Eichten performed and was movement director in Carolyn Chen’s, “How to Fall Apart,” at Baryshnikov Art Center, NYC. Last year, at Frieze Art Festival, Eichten performed an excerpt of, “Julie with a Beet,” as a part of Open Studios at L.A. Dance Project, Los Angeles, CA.’This smart choreographic rhythm by Eichten is the kind of dance that you always want to stumble upon and be taken by surprise with.’ – LA Chronicle. Eichten performed in Bobbi Jean Smith’s “Broken Theater” at Carolina Performing Arts, Chapel Hill, NC & Oz Arts, Nashville and most recently to a sold out run at La Mama, NYC. ‘Julia Eichten, in the role of stage manager, provides some much-needed comic relief.’ – NY Times. At the start of 2024, Julia performed and choreographed in “ISOLA” composed by Alyssa Weinberg and Directed by George R. Miller, ‘The linchpin of this production was the physical theater of Eichten,’ SF Classical Voice.

Joe was born and raised in the beautiful hills of upstate New York, and can easily be identified by his cacophonous laughter. He began his training in Rochester, New York, and continued his studies at The Juilliard School on scholarships from The NYCDAFoundation and Cornell University. During his training he performed principal roles in the works of Symphony of Psalms by Jirí Kylián, and Baker’s Dozen by Twyla Tharp. He also performed works by notable choreographers such as Nacho Duato, Kyle Abraham, Martha Graham, Camille A. Brown and Brian Brooks. From 2016- 2022 he was a dancer with LA based contemporary company BODYTRAFFIC, where he traveled twice to Algeria as a cultural ambassador for the arts representing The U.S. in the International Modern Dance Festival. As a company member he toured internationally to Russia, Holland, Poland, Indonesia, Serbia and Mexico, and choreographed internationally in the cities of Jakarta and Hong Kong. Professionally, he has performed pieces by renowned choreographers such as Hofesh Shechter, Alejandro Cerudo, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Micaela Taylor, Barak Marshall, Arthur Pita, Victor Quijada, Matthew Neenan, Sidra Bell and Richard Seigal. He has been a guest artist with Long Beach Opera, LA Chamber Orchestra, Heidi Duckler Dance Company and Clairobscur Dance. In 2019 he co-founded HD Theatre with partner Haley Heckethorn, a contemporary dance company that performs and commissions work by upcoming and established choreographers, while also providing educational spaces for youth dance programs. On film, Joe can be seen in Calvin Klein’s Spring ’22 campaign, music video Man’s World, written by MARINA and directed by Alexandra Gavillet, as well as Requim for Air and Normalcy by Laurie Sefton. In addition to
performing and choreographing he has taught master classes at institutions such as Steps on Broadway, Loyola Marymount University, Chapman University, Santa Monica College, UCLA and numerous dance studios across the country, and is currently on faculty at CalArts in Valencia, CA. Joe is a lead Dance Church® teacher, an all-inclusive and community driven outlet to dancing.

Darrel ‘Friidom’ Dunn, a Dallas, TX native now residing in LA, is a versatile artist with a degree in Arts & Technology from the University of Texas at Dallas. With expertise as a director, choreographer, actor, and composer, he has made a mark in the industry. He has collaborated with a wide range of contemporary art and commercial projects, including Samsung, Universal Music Enterprises, Freeform Tv, Trishes, Tyler the Creator, W.A.C.O. Theater Center, Lin Manuel Miranda, Ashwin Vasvada of JPL, Will Smith, and more. Friidom’s work has also been featured in various exhibitions and publications such as Intersect Palm Springs, LA Weekly, & LA Times. Friidom is renowned for his groundbreaking cinematic movement style, “Epiic,” and is dedicated to spreading this philosophy by creating immersive worlds that foster unity through his raw expressive movement.

Shu Kinouchi. A Native from Yokohama, Japan. I joined LA Dance Project in 2020 as a dancer. Prior to LADP, I was a dancer at Houston Ballet and a dancer at Tulsa Ballet. My ballet training happened at Mayumi Kinouchi Ballet Studio, Hamburg Ballet School von John Neumeier, and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre. During my dance journey, I danced many solos and works and worked with world class choreographers like: Benjamin Millepied, Bobbi Smith and Or Schreiber, Janie Taylor, Jessica Lang, Marcello Angelini, Stanton Welch, William Forsythe, Aszure Barton, Ma Cong, Nicolo Fonte, Matthew Neenan, Jodie Gates, Ronald Hynd, Christopher Wheeldon, Ben Stevenson, Connor Walsh, Oliver Halkowich, Kazuyuki Futami, Melody Walsh and many others. In addition to my primary job functions, I enjoy using time for my commitment to multimedia dance work. Some of my works were displayed at gallery in NYC curated by NFT ASIA, and at MoveMint Experience in NFT NYC.

David Adrian Freeland, Jr. received his early dance training at LaVilla School of the Arts in Jacksonville, FL and at the Jacksonville Centre of the Arts. He furthered his dance studies at several prestigious intensive programs affiliated with The Juilliard School, Nashville Ballet, Atlanta Festival Ballet, and the Bates Dance Festival. David attended the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase College and began working toward his BFA in Dance before being invited to join Ailey II, the second company of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, where he danced for three years. During this time, he performed seminal works by Alvin Ailey, Judith Jamison, Robert Battle, as well as new works by Troy Powell, Dwight Rhoden, Jennifer Archibald, Amy Hall-Garner, Malcolm Low, and Donald Byrd, among others. David’s professional experience also includes seasons performing with The Metropolitan Opera and Missouri Ballet Theatre. In 2016, David joined L.A. Dance Project where he has both created roles and danced in important stage and film works by Benjamin Millepied, Kyle Abraham, Justin Peck, Ohad Naharin, Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham, Roy Assaf, Noé Soulier, and Shannon Gillen. David is the proud recipient of a 2018 Princess Grace Award in Dance.

Daphne Fernberger, born and raised in NYC, began her professional career with Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet before moving to Europe to join Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company. As a freelance artist, she danced for the Merce Cunningham Trust in “Night Of 100 Solos: A Centennial Event,” Ersan Mondtag, Margie Gillis Legacy Project, among others, in both Europe and the United States. Daphne graduated from American Ballet Theatre’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School and received her BFA from The Juilliard School. During her time at Juilliard, Daphne had the honor of performing a lead role in Pina Bausch’s rarely seen work, “Wind von West,” also traveling to Germany to perform in celebration of Tanztheater Wuppertal’s 40th anniversary. Her own choreographies include “Hellerau is Female,” “WHOLE,” a short film for the fashion brand Rentrayage, the dance film “Environment as Self,” and “The River Within.” On her path she discovered the potent power of transformation through dance. Believing it needs to be shared now more than ever, she hosts livestream movement meditations weekly.
