Join us at L.A. Dance Project on January 10 for an open rehearsal of WALL—BODY, a new interdisciplinary performance created by choreographer Shu Kinouchi in collaboration with architect Hiroshi Kaneko. Premiering in spring 2026, WALL—BODY is an 80‑minute, exhibition‑style solo work that invites audiences to experience choreography as it unfolds within a shifting architectural landscape.
Guided by Shinto principles that recognize presence and vitality within inanimate objects, Kinouchi and Kaneko explore how walls shape movement, perception, and the body’s relationship to space. The work features twelve movable ten‑foot walls that continually reconfigure the environment, creating both expansive vistas and intimate passages. As the architecture transforms, so does the viewer’s perspective, encouraging audiences to move through the space and encounter the performance from multiple vantage points.
This open rehearsal offers a rare glimpse into the creative process behind WALL—BODY and the evolving dialogue between movement and architecture at the heart of the work.
